SAA (South African Airways)

 

Overview

 

South African Airways serves more than 30 international destinations on six continents and also caters for the domestic market in South Africa. Domestic travellers typically make repeat trips each month.

With in excess of 20 daily African routes, the company has committed to adding to these in the coming years. For example, on the Cape Town – Johannesburg routes, 20 flights take place every day – exceedingly high coverage and essential for regular commuters.

 

Employing over 20,000 global staff, with over 3500 technical support staff, almost 3000 cabin crew and more than 800 pilots, they also encourage female staff, with management incentive programmes and other schemes. Over three quarters of senior management are black and racial equality is part of the philosophy and mission statement of the company. A member of the Star Alliance since 2006, South African Airways is the first and currently sole African airline to be included to date.
